The Pari Mahal opened in 1650, and was used as a library and place to teach astrology and astronomy. Below is the Royal Springs Golf Course, Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden and Dal Lake.

The local name, Hazratbal translate literally as Respected Place, or otherwise a place of high respect or regard. It contains a relic, the Moi-e-Muqqadas, believed by many Muslims of Kashmir to be a hair of Muhammad and is considered to be Kashmir’s holiest Muslim shrine. [citation]

A pack of feral dogs devour the remains of a goat (or sheep?) which had most probably fallen victim to the sudden snowfall.



We took a short excursion to some scenic points near Gulmarg Market to kill time. However our taxi had gotten stuck in the snow. Other drives came down to help push or shovel the snow. When none of that worked, a set of chains for the tyres came out. However, the drive had only one set, so it had to be installed at the worst stuck tyre.
